So. Best laid plans and all that… Life has a funny way of taking over and blog posts end up half written and then neglected.
It has been a fairly crazy ride over the last couple of months — between illness, hospital stays/visits (not immediate family), death, drama, more death, more illness, more hospital stays (this time immediate family)… It’s been piling in thick and fast.
Thankfully we are all in one piece (just) and are looking forward to the fun things we have coming up in the next few weeks.
For starters, our older three girls are all making their Confirmation in a couple of weeks. We had great fun discussing sponsors and saints recently, and I am MORE than delighted that our #2 has opted for St Christina the Astonishing to be her new patron! While reading of the sensory issues she seemed to have, and the lengths she would go to to avoid people, we figured she was likely to have been a bit neurospicy and therefore a good fit for #2.
We’ve got the usual end of term craziness, with sports days, field trips and the endless requests for money for all and sundry (I used to think late August/early September was the most expensive time of year, school wise, but am beginning to realise that June is a likely candidate). Summer break is heaving into view too, with a family get together followed by summer camps for 3 out of 5. And photos. No doubt there will be lots of photos!
Hopefully we’re able to factor in another iron infusion (sooner rather than later) as I’m in the middle of another nosedive with All Things Autoimmune. Fun times. But that’s another story for another day.
Back soon with something a bit more fun and interesting, no doubt, but currently having to buckle up and get on with things around here!
What do you think?
